We kicked off the weekend at the Miss City Weekly Pride Pageant, where the Utah Film Center’s longest running festival, Damn These Heels (DTH) was one of the presenting sponsors. Congrats to Princess Nika for winning the crown! Check out the pics Austen Diamond took of the event here.

That night filmmaker extraordinaire and incomparable queen of the macabre, Peaches Christ, the amazing Princess Kennedy, and other Utah Film Center/Damn These Heels supporters, kicked off the DTH film festival with drag performances, drinks, and fun on at JAM SLC during the official Pride after party with the Utah Pride Center!

The Utah Film Center step-and-repeat was a success too—we have so many great pics! Check out the Utah Film Center photo gallery to find your pics.

Saturday we screened two animated features, Khumba and Paranoman. Were you able to see them? What did you think? Let us know in the comments section below!

Finally, on Sunday Slug Magazine and Utah Film Center staff, volunteers, and supporters got up bright and early for a HUGE pride parade. The Pride theme was “Love = Love” so we teamed up with our partners, Slug Magazine, to create signs and adorable tshirts that fit within the theme. We had a bike brigade, roller skaters, walkers, and water guns. Slug mags were passed out and so were DTH save-the-date cards.
