The forces of nature and a young boy come together in this touching tale about hope, discovery, and friendship set in the majestic Alps.
In a nest high in the peaks, a pair of golden eagles raises their two eaglets, until the stronger of the two young birds forces the weaker out of the nest. Twelve-year-old Lukas stumbles upon the rejected bird as he is struggling with the relationship he has with his withdrawn father, who has been removed since the death of Lukas’s mother. With the help of a friendly mountain man, Lukas secretly nurses the eagle—Abel—back to health and develops a unique bond with the magnificent bird. Lukas finds the love and companionship he is missing at home in his relationship with Abel, leading him down a road of self-discovery. As Abel grows older, Lukas begins to realize that he must release the bird into the wild and address his strained relationship with his father.
Filmed as a nature and dramatic film, Brothers of the Wind features touching performances from the entire cast and breathtaking cinematography.
