Do I need to be a member of Utah Film Center Artist Foundry to take workshops?

No, you do not need to be a member of the Artist Foundry to participate in workshops. If you do plan on taking more than one workshop in a year, the yearly membership will pay for itself and also get you access to a lot of other member perks.

Do I have to sign up for the workshop in advance or can I pay at the door?

Workshops often fill up and not signing up ahead of time could result in you not being admitted at the door. Additionally, a minimum number of participants is needed for each workshop so it is important to sign up beforehand so the workshop is not canceled.

I am interested in a workshop, but the scheduled day and/or time does not work for me. How often does Artist Foundry offer the workshops and do the days/times vary?

Workshops are based on demand and on the schedules of the Artist Foundry workshop leaders. The plan is to offer each workshop at least once a quarter (4 times a year.) If you are interested in a certain workshop, be sure to click the Wait List button and fill out the contact form to let the Artist Foundry know the workshop you are interested in taking. If certain days of the week do not work for you, indicate it in the message. If the waitlist hits the minimum number of participants before the next scheduled workshop, the Artist Foundry will try to add an additional workshop sooner than planned, at a time accommodating as many as possible.

If you have a group interested in any of the workshops, please contact the Artist Foundry regarding scheduling a private workshop that accommodates your group’s schedule. (Minimum of 4 people.)

What is the refund policy on workshops?

Artist Foundry plans workshops based on registered participants and requires a minimum of 3 days notice if you need to withdraw. You can apply the amount paid to a different workshop, keep it as a credit for a future workshop, or be refunded in full. If the Artist Foundry does not receive notice at least 3 days before the start of a workshop, no transfers, credits, or refunds will be given. If an emergency arises, please contact the Artist Foundry as soon as possible and we will evaluate case by case.

In the event that the Artist Foundry needs to cancel a workshop due to not hitting minimum enrollment, the Artist Foundry offers the same refund options as above: you can apply the amount paid to a different workshop, keep it as a credit for a future workshop, or be refunded in full. The Artist Foundry will try to give a minimum of 24 hour notice if a workshop will be canceled.

What if I am not happy with the workshop I’m currently taking or just took?

Artist Foundry has worked hard to curate the workshops offered with some of the most talented people in Utah and our goal is to provide the highest quality training to every participant. We understand that when dealing with the arts, some styles aren’t for everyone and we try to be upfront and detailed in the workshop descriptions.  If you feel unhappy with the quality of the instruction received, please contact the Artist Foundry .
