Community Spotlight FAQ

You can pick the content, topic of conversation, and discussion participants and we’ll produce the event with our online streaming platform and technical know-how. Below is a quick overview of the process.
  1. Contact Russell at to request a Community Spotlight at least 8 weeks in advance.
  2. The Community Outreach Manager will respond with additional details about your preferred event format and associated costs
  3. An event is usually one of these formats:
    • A film
    • A film with a post-film panel discussion
    • “Clips and Conversation” — Clips from films or tv shows are presented in context with a panel discussion in lieu of a full film
  4. Once the event is approved, Utah Film Center will support the Community Spotlight partner with pre-event management, technical assistance, and sharing of the partner’s marketing materials on our website and newsletter.
  5. On the day of the event, the partner manages the conversation and the Film Center will manage all technical aspects to produce the best presentation
