“It’s one thing for Robert Redford to do a movie where he’s alone in the middle of the ocean. But he has nothing on Laura Dekker, who, at 14, began sailing across the globe by herself.” – USA Today
After a yearlong battle with Dutch authorities, which garners unwanted media attention, 14-year-old Laura Dekker sets off on a two-year journey to become the youngest person to circumnavigate the globe single-handedly. On her own, in the one place she feels most comfortable, she explores the world looking for adventure and seeking peace with herself and her family’s past. Using a mix of Laura’s own video and voice recordings at sea, this film captures the spirit of adventure and coming of age.
