Marina (Sabrina Ferilli) and Federica (Margherita Buy) share everything—an apartment, face cream, and Bengal, the cat. What they don’t share is a public identity as a lesbian couple. Actress Marina is out, privately and professionally. Respected architect Federica, on the other hand, isn’t even sure she is a lesbian. For five years, she has quietly loved and shared a life with Marina, but when she bumps into Carlo (Antonio Zavatteri), an old flame, tensions between the two women ignite, and their once-stable relationship is put to the test.
As the title suggests, Maria Sole Tognazzi’s film asks (and happily answers) those age-old relationship questions that perplex all of us: “Who am I?,” “Who am I with you?,” and “Who am I without you?”
Winner: David di Donatello Awards 2016—Best Actress
