Post film discussion with Mayumi Shill, Utah Programs Coordinator for the National Alliance on Mental Illness.

Based on the true story of Dr. Nise da Silveira (Glória Pires), a once-ridiculed psychiatrist in Rio de Janeiro. Pioneer of the anti-asylum fight, she refused to apply electroshock and lobotomy in the treatment of patients. She introduced patients to occupational therapy after —for some— a lifetime of prescribed isolation; and started a revolution filled with love, inspiration, art and madness.
