Academy Award-winner Tommy Lee Jones took home an Emmy for his role in this made-for-television movie, adapted from the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Norman Mailer. Based on a true story, this compelling drama follows Gary Gilmore, a criminal on death row who became the first prisoner executed in the United States after the government’s death penalty reinstatement in 1976.
