Documentaries bring us real stories, but how do virtual reality documentaries work? Learn what it’s like to be immersed the story with 360 documentarian Carol Dalrymple of the Utah Film Center’s Moving Stories Education Program. Experience the latest in Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR). After watching a VR documentary filmed in a Syrian refugee camp, students will create AR content to delve into their own personal stories.
Note: This presentation uses Oculus Go headsets. Oculus recommends these headsets for ages 13+ due to the size of the headset and the spacing of the lenses. In practice, we’ve found that kids 10+ can use the headsets, too.
Workshops are open to patrons up to 18 years old. Parents and chaperones may attend with a minor participating in the workshops at no cost.
